The UFB Direct Airlines Rewards Checking account allows you to earn miles and transfer them to any participating airline program you select at the time of opening the account. However, American Airlines is the only participating service; hence your choice is pretty simple.
With a direct deposit of $1,000 or more, you can get a bonus of 1,000 miles. The UFB Direct Airline Rewards account will provide rewards at a rate of 1 mile for $2 at the point of sale transactions that is made using the debit card. The rate is less favorable for earning the Advantage miles than any of American Airlines credit cards. The maximum rewards points collected in a year are 120,000 miles for which you will have to require spending $240, 000 in annual spending.
Unlike the Delta debit card, this has no annual fee and hence no minimum balance is needed in the checking account. For those without good credit and the ability to get credit cards this is an account to consider.
