I just love Starwood points!  Why!  They are worth gold!  When you redeem Starwood points, you really are going first class.  I’m just jazzed this week to be heading off for a romantic getaway with my hubby to Beverly Hills.  Special thanks to American Express and my Starwood Preferred credit card, we are staying at the SLS Beverly Hills.  If you aren’t very knowledgeable about the Starwood program you might not think their 25,000 bonus point offer for the Starwood Preferred card is much but it is.  The value of Starwood points is very high.  You can transfer than to most all airlines on a 1:1 ratio but I think you get your highest value redeeming for accommodations like I am doing this week.  I am using 27,000 points to stay in an upgrade Premier King room at the SLS Beverly Hills.  The room rate is $461 (inc. tax).  So the room would have been a total cost of $922.  You can also stretch these Starwood points with their Cash & Points program which I love too.  I would have used this option but it was not available on my dates.  If you can use the Cash & Points award nights, it’s a super deal.

8,000 points plus $150 to stay at places like:
Just to name a few………
Starwood properties are some of the nicest properties. Your points really take you far with Starwood.  I just love Starwood points and I’m always looking for ways to earn more.  Since they are so valuable they aren’t as easy to come by as say Priority Club points.  I also don’t part with them easily.  I have many other points I can exchange for airfare, so I like to keep these just for luxury accommodations.  Anyway, if you haven’t really checked out their program, you definitely should.  And if you don’t have their Starwood Preferred card, it’s a must!  You can also sign up for their business card too.  Read more about the Starwood program here.
Hotel review & trip report to follow.  Don’t want to go into all the details of my trip since it’s a surprise birthday getaway for my husband’s 40th.  Can’t take a chance of any leaks!!!  I’m dying to write about my plans though.  I promise to write more next week.  If any of you watch the show Bachelor or Bachelorette, think about the dream dates they go on and that is what I have planned for my hubby.  Two days alone with no kids.  It’s going to be a dream!  I can’t wait!!!
