If you aren’t aware of Priority Club’s Points Break List than you need to be.  Priority Club has one of the best discounted point redemption’s opportunities of any hotel program.  They offer a quarterly list that has hotels all over the world for only 5,000 Priority Club points.  Sometimes these hotels are Intercontinental & Crown Plaza too.  You never know what will be on the list. These hotels are available to redeem nights for 5,000 points until either the hotel books all the nights allocated or the end of the quarter.  As the quarter goes on you will see hotels disappear from this list.  My suggestion is to always check this list right away and book anything you remotely think you might use.  You can always cancel later and your points are deposited immediately back into your account.  So go check out this quarter’s list ASAP and see if there are any winners for you.  I just found a winner for our family’s East Coast trip in October.  I had us booked at a Holiday Inn in Meriden, CT because it was close to other towns we wanted to visit and the points were low at only 20,000 points per night.  I can’t believe I just grab a reservation at the Crown Plaza in Southbury, CT for only 5,000 points for 4 nights.  Wow!  I canceled my current reservation.  My 80,000 points were immediately deposited back into my account and I booked the Crown Plaza for only 20,000 points.  Can you believe that!  This is a perfect example of the sweet deal that can be had with these points break nights.  My family will now be staying in a higher category hotel and I paid 1/4 of what I was going to pay in points.  How about that!  Just more points for another trip!  Gotta love Priority Club!  So now you see what I mean when I say always always check the Points Break List.  Even if you think your trip is set in stone (as I thought mine was).  You never know what you might see and how you might change your plans.  By the way, if you don’t have any points, you can purchase them.  Here is the break down on purchasing Priority Club points
 You can purchase:
  • between 1,000 points (minimum) and 40,000 points (maximum)
  • in 1,000 point increments
  • no more than 40,000 points total per rolling 12-month period

The more you buy, the more you’ll save.

  • 1,000 to 9,000 points: $13.50 USD per 1,000 points
  • 10,000 to 19,000 points: $12.50 USD per 1,000 points
  • 20,000 to 40,000 points: $11.50 USD per 1,000 points
Your point purchase will be deposited into your account and will be available for redemption immediately after you complete your purchase.
So 5,000 points would cost you $67.50.  This is super cheap if you are redeeming for a Intercontinental or Crown Plaza property and a great rate even for many Holiday Inns.

Valid though October 31, 2012
