Another not written about offer I came upon today was for Lufthansa.  Thought I’d mention it.  I don’t collect Lufthansa miles but you might.  I’m not familiar with their program at all so I can’t speak about it.  I’m actually doing my own research.  I’ll post more as I learn.
It’s from Barclays so it’s caught my attention since I need to cool it for awhile with Chase & AMEX.  Not a super offer, only 30,000 bonus miles after first purchase.  The additional 15,000 bonus miles are for balance transfers.  So really it’s only a 30,000 miles deal.  I’ve briefly looked at the Star Alliance award chart and 30,000 will give you a free ticket either in North America or within Europe.  You can fly on the following airlines with these miles:

Adria Airways
Aegean Airlines
Air Canada
Air China
Air New Zealand
Asiana Airlines
Austrian Airlines Group
Blue 1
Brussels Airlines
Continental Airlines
Croatia Airlines
Ethiopian Airlines
LOT Polish Airlines
Singapore Airlines*
South African Airways
Swiss International Air Lines
TAP Portugal
Turkish Airlines
US Airways
Air Astana
Air Dolomiti
Air India
Air Malta
Cirrus Airlines
Jat Airways
Jet Airways
Qatar Airways

The annual fee is $79  (waived for Senator and HON Circle Members)., not bad for a discounted ticket.

  1. Info from Lufthansa on miles expiring:Award miles remain valid for 36 months after the transaction date and then expire – if they have not been used – at the end of that quarter. Miles earned by members who have attained the status of Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle Member or possess a German Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card* are not subject to mileage expiration. (*For customers with an international Miles & More Credit Card, special conditions apply.)How can I avoid my miles expiring? If you have a Miles & More credit card your award miles will remain valid indefinitely, provided that you have the Miles & More credit card for at least three months and that you make at least one qualifying purchase per month. By applying for a Miles & More credit card you can therefore avoid your miles expiring. Please select your country of residence on this page which will take you to the appropriate bank's website.Looks like you have no worries about the miles expiring if you have the credit card.
