Thanks Faith!! The AMEX Plat. deal is superb!! My hubby got approved immediately. Do you know if I can transfer my Membership Rewards points from my current AMEX Plat. to my hubby’s new account? My annual is coming up at the end of February and I really don’t want to pay another hefty annual now that we will be paying for that same amount on Hubby’s new card. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!! Too bad none of the business cards are running a bonus. Thanks again for posting the deal!!
@Sandy – You are very welcome! In regards to transfer your points to your husbands membership rewards account, I do not believe this is allowed. It is however possible to transfer membership rewards points to any person’s Delta, British Airways, Air France, etc. frequent flyer account. All you need to do is link their account number and make the transfer. If you as AMEX they will stay this isn’t allowed but it does work last I checked. So you might have to just choose where you’d like to put your MR points and then cancel that card. Maybe use one of the partners offering a transfer bonus right now – British Airways 30% bonus.
Transfer to any person’s frequent miles account is a great idea, thanks for that suggestion!
Can you tell me what options I would have with the points from the AmEx Platinum? Which airlines can they be transferred to? Which hotels? I’m not familiar with the AmEx points.
@travel4nana – This article: http://milesmomma.com/50000-point-for-amex-business-gold-rewards-card-limited-time-offer/ has a nice chart of the transfer partners, hotel & airlines. I’ll post it here as well for others. As I mentioned, they frequently run promotion with transfer bonuses too from 20% – 50% usually.
