Frequent Traveler University – Coming to the West Coast (Dec 7-9)
Well, the powers that be (don’t know who they all are – a few maybe) have decided that the cool frequent flyer event which is called the “Frequent Traveler University” is finally going to pay us West Coast addicts a visit. I’m so pumped! As soon as the news broke on Milepoint (thread here), I had the dates inputted into my iphone. I’ve wanted to go to one of these types of events but not bad enough that I would use to my precious miles/point resources to pay for it. I’d rather fly to Prague or South America or be traveling somewhere really cool! I figured it would be a matter of time and an event would come here to California which would be easy for me to attend without much cost except hotel & food expenses. The time has finally arrived.
If you don’t know what in the world is the Frequent Traveler University, I’ll tell you. It is a weekend event with seminars on all things frequent flyer — from the nuts and bolts of mileage runs to how to go about booking awards, churning credit cards, maximizing gift cards to earn points, etc. Everything you every wanted to know about the crazy hobby of mile and point collecting. It’s basically where all these crazy addicts (like myself) get together, have a great time and share all great ideas around how to earn huge amounts of miles and points. Many bloggers like myself are the speakers at this events. I’ve never been and would much prefer to just sit back and enjoy the weekend. I get way too nervous in front of a crowd. I’m a big talker but not in front of large groups.
All the details of this upcoming event have not been released yet. But what we do know is that the upcoming Frequent Traveler University will be held in Los Angeles on December 7 – 9th. So mark your calenders! If you are from the Central Coast of California ( San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara County) and are interested in going, I’d love to coordinate a group. Be fun to connect as a group and maybe car pool together, etc. Hey, maybe we should start our own little crazy addicts club. We could call ourselves the Central Coast Frequent Flyer Addicts. Ha! Ha! No…..I’m actually serious, that’s the scary thing! Anyone interested??
Well, here are the details of the Frequent Traveler University that was just held this past weekend in NYC. This will give you an idea of what the weekend event would be like. I’ll post details of the Los Angeles event when they become available.
