CONTINENTAL CARD ON THE WAY OUT! – APPLY BY 2/29

FYI

Just wanted to let all my readers know that I received this email from Chase yesterday.

Dear Chase Affiliates,
As you may be aware, Continental Airlines has been acquired by United Airlines in a recent merger and will cease to exist as an airline, with the final official Continental flight taking off on March 2nd.Due to this merger, Chase is discontinuing the Continental Airlines OnePass® Plus Card, effective Thursday, March 1st, 2012.

If you were thinking of getting this card, the time to act in now.  If you need United miles and don’t have this card, I would grab it.  It’s not a huge bonus, only 30,000 miles but still a domestic ticket on any Star Alliance partner. 25,000 bonus mile awarded after first use, 5,000 bonus miles for adding an authorize user, and no fee for the first year.  Easy deal because there is no min. spend to receive the 30,000 bonus miles.  If you want to try for an additional 10,000, you have to spend $25,000 in the first year (ouch!).  Most people won’t do this, so that is why I say it’s a 30,000 mile deal.
