ACCUMULATING HOTEL POINTS – PART 2

As I previously discussed in Part 1 of this series, you can accumulated large amounts of hotel points from the different hotel chain credit card offers.  I have already discussed the Hilton & Starwood chain. Now, I’ll give you the current Hyatt, Marriott, & Priority Club offers.  In a later post I’ll discuss some suggestions of how to maximize these hotel points for a nice family vacation.

HYATT

Hyatt currently has 2 different offers through Chase bank.  A great thread on Flyertalk discusses that there are two separate offers that you could apply for both.  You can read more about that here.  I can’t verify this because I do not currently have this card.  I will probably be getting it this year at some point.  Two free nights in any Hyatt worldwide is a very high dollar value if you use it wisely.  I’ll discuss some incredible locations you could redeem your nights for in a later post.

You will qualify for and receive your two Hyatt Gold Passport® Free Night Awards and two Suite Upgrade Awards after your first purchase.”

MARRIOTT

These are the three cards available for Marriott points.  They are all different products and you can get them all (maybe not at the same time though).  If you want all three, I would suggest applying for a premier card and the business card.  Then apply for the regular rewards card after 90 days.

PRIORITY CLUB

If you are not familiar with Priority Club, they own the following hotel chains:  Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, Crown Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.  These hotel range from mid of the road, Holiday Inn to higher end Intercontinental Hotel properties.  I’ll discuss more about great redemptions and stretching these points later.  With both the personal & the business Priority Club Visa’s you could earn a total of 90,000 points or 110,000 if you get the 80,000 point offer.  Free nights starts at 10,000 points at night at Holiday Inns and go up from there.  I am planning to stretch some of my points on our family’s east coast trip this year.  I’ll be using only 40,000 points to stay for 4 nights in Connecticut.  I personally love Priority Club points because they are so easy to earn and can be stretched out for lots of free nights on your family vacations.  I’ll write another post about some other easy ways to earn Priority Club points.

Bump Option:

There is a targeted 80,000 bonus points offer available.  If you want to try to receive the extra 20,000 bonus points, read this thread on Flyertalk.  Looks like some have got the bump and other have not.  I would apply through the link on this thread as it’s probably your best chance to get the 80,000 point offer.  Even though it doesn’t give you the landing page details any more, why not.  If you don’t get the 80k offer, you’ll get the 60k offer.  Give it a try!
