750 FREE SOUTHWEST POINTS

Here is some free Southwest points if you don’t have an account already.  Sign up today and receive 750 FREE points to get your account going.

WHAT TO DO:
Simply enroll and receive 250 Bonus Points

Register for “The Rapid Rewards Report Email Summary” and receive another 250 Points
Lastly register for “The Rapid Rewards Email Update” and receive another 250 Points.
You should be asked to sign up for these options when you enroll.  If not, just go to your email preferences under your account and register there.  I don’t think you will too though.  There you go!  Simple as that!  Remember, if you don’t have accounts for all your family members, be sure you grab these free points for them as well.

Now, if you really want to jump start your new account.  Southwest offers a 50,000 Bonus Points for their Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus credit card.  This is an excellent bonus offer if you don’t have this card already.  Southwest markets that offer as “2 free flights” but depending upon how you redeem these points you could get many more flights than that.  Here is the award chart

Here are a few examples of maximizing these points are short haul flights.

Only 3,480 SFO to LAS

Nice trip from LAX to PHX – 8,400 points plus $5

Nice trip from LAX to LAS only 4,980 plus $5 ROUNDTRIP

So let’s just say you use all your points for flights like the LAX to LAS (similar to short hauls in your area) for 4,980.  That would be 10 flights.  The cost to you $5 x 10 = $50.

Other benefits include:

  • 2 free checked bags
  • Unlimited reward seats
  • No black out dates
  • Points never expire as long as you have qualifying activity within 24 months. Only need 1 point to keep points from expiring.  You can always buy something small from the shopping mall or grab from free points from promotions they run through the year.  (Don’t worry I’ll always keep you up-to-date on those)
  • No change fees.  If you cancel your reward travel reservation before the flight, the points will be immediately redeposited in your account.  If you do not cancel the reservation and miss a flight, the unused points will be credited back to your account in three to four days.  Awesome policy!
So you can see now why I say this is a great credit card bonus.  Southwest isn’t United, Delta or American but it will certain take you to many places even some international destinations since Southwest has bought Air Tran and are currently merging the frequent flyer programs.  You can currently transfer Southwest points to AirTran so you can book international (Caribbean/Mexico) flights.  You can also transfer 120,000 Southwest points to 100 AirTran credits and then redeem them for a companion pass on Air Tran.
The Points Guys also points out an interesting option of increasing your Southwest points value by transferring them to AirTran
You can effectively “launder” Southwest points to AirTran credits back to old Southwest credits. Now, points are worth 1.66 cents towards Wanna Get Away fares. 19,200 points would be $318 in airfare. However, 19,200 Southwest points transferred to AirTran and then back to Southwest credits would get you a free Wanna Get Away roundtrip award regardless of the price. So if you are eyeing a roundtrip Wanna Get Away ticket that’s more than $318, it behooves you to book it via AirTran and back to credits vs. Southwest points.”

  1. @Catherine. You just need to log out of your account. The system is keeping you logged in. Where you see your name and "Rapid Rewards Member" – to the right says "LOGOUT" Click on that and log out and you'll be able to register him. Let me know if you have further problems.
