Well, the fourth quarter has come for me and I decided to apply for the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard®. I have thousands of miles and points in various programs but this new card from Barclay got my attention with the 40,000 bonus point offer. I was going to apply earlier in the year but was busy with other credit card offers. I’m always looking to diversify my earnings so I have many options when planning a trip. I can’t write enough about the value of diversification. The more programs you have miles and points, the easier it makes it to plan your dream adventures. It’s like going shopping for a new outfit with 20 gift cards and the toughest decision is what store to choose. This is what you want when shopping for a flight, hotel, bed and breakfast, cruise, or special event. Choices! If you want to travel all over the world, diversification is the key to get you there, not loyalty to a certain brand or program. No one airline, loyalty brand or rewards program can offer you all the best choices but several used together can.
The flexibility to use these points as a statement credit for any travel expense is what really sold me. I also loved the fact that you only need to spend $3,000 to earn the 40,000 bonus points. The fact that the Barclaycard Arrival World Mastercard is not offered through Chase, Citibank, or American Express cards was a real plus for me as well because I have many cards through these lenders and I am always looking to expand my portfolio with other lenders. I like to spread myself around abit! 😉
This card also waives the annual fee for the first year ($89 value), earns 2x points per dollar, and has no foreign transactions.
