30,000 AMERICAN AIRLINES MILES FOR CITIBANK CHECKING ACCOUNT
Citibank is currently offering 30,000 American Airlines miles for a Citibank Citigold checking account. This offer has been around for years and there’s always seems to be new promotional codes that come out when old ones expire. I’ve done this checking account offer many times myself. Below you’ll find the details of the current offer. This is especially a great deal for my readers who are struggling to improve their credit so they can get some great credit card bonuses. This is any easy 30,000 AA miles (or 60,000 for couples/families) for you!
WHAT TO DO:
- Go to www.offer.citibank.com and enter promotional code: DON42OQL3X
UPDATE 1/25/2015: New codes: DWBXLFT7VF expires 3/31/2015. I have verified this code brings up the offer. Click on “Promotional Disclosure” in blue on the left side bar. It will detail the entire offer. Print for your records.
- Click on “Promotion Disclosure” on the left side bar to view the offer details. Be sure to print this for your records.
- Open a The Citigold® Account Package, account by 6/14/2014 for 30,000 AA miles.
- Within 60 days after account opening, complete both of the following qualifying activities:
- Bill Payment: One (1) qualifying bill payment for two consecutive months.
- Debit Card: Spend the required $750 minimum amount on purchases using your Citibank® Debit Card
SPECIAL NOTE: Citibank is notorious for having a hard time posting your miles once you’ve met the minimum requirements. You will probably have to call a few time to get them into your account. I have always had mine posted but took some time. On the other hand, I’ve read many reports that people miles posted easily and quickly. In my experience, you are not charged the monthly fee for the first two months. This is great because once the miles are posted to your account you can either cancel your account or downgrade it.
Citibank has also been know to send 1099 for the bonus, although I did an offer last year for 30,000 and never receive a 1099. Not sure if I’ll receive one this year. If I do, I plan to dispute it as there is no real way to put a dollar value on miles because it depends upon how they are redeemed and the IRS has already issued a statement indicated that they don’t consider miles currency. Any company can issue you a 1099 but that doesn’t mean the IRS expects you to pay taxes. I believe Citibank has started sending this 1099 as the IRS told them to.

Hello, just to be sure.. I applied for the Ck acct when u posted it previously I think it was 2012 or 2013.. don’t remember. . I got the 30K.. man it was some work trying to get that, I did close the account, but the account still shows up when I lot in my citi.. I think it’s inactive, can we get 30K, again if I apply?
The terms & conditions state it must be two years since you last bonus. Knowing Citi my guess is they will enforce that. I’m going to check the date when I last applied and try for this. I need to research my file to see when I last opened and be sure. I’d suggest you do the same.
