The minimum spend is very steep on this offer but doable using creative tools like the AMEX Bluebird, Amazon Payments and other financial products. You can also use various prepaid cards I have listed on my site to funnel money through to help with this minimum spend. You can learn more about the AMEX Bluebird by reading these articles here. As always, if you need help or have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me.
If you are looking for an easier minimum spend, the 50,000 point bonus offer I wrote about just a few weeks ago for the AMEX Premier Rewards Gold card might be a good fit for you. It only requires a $1,000 minimum spend which is much easier for most people with regular spending and bills. You can read more details about that deal here. Just follow the steps to access the offer.
Writing this article for you all, I couldn’t help but think maybe I could snag some points myself. I got the 75,000 AMEX Business Rewards Gold card last year so that was a definite no go for me this round. But I just checked my excel spreadsheet and noticed it’s been longer than 12 months since I’ve applied for any personal AMEX product described in the terms and conditions of the 50,000 point AMEX Premier Rewards Gold. I canceled my AMEX Premier Rewards Gold last year sometime. So I knew I was eligible. So being the points addict I am I had to give it a go! I knew I was only risking 2-3 points on my credit score. On February 7th, I did my 1st quarter credit apps and was approved for all 4 cards. I didn’t apply for the 50,000 AMEX Premier Rewards Gold offer when I wrote about the deal on 2/21 because I had already done my apps for the quarter and was waiting for the 2nd quarter. Anyway, writing this article for you all just enticed me way too much. I couldn’t handle it. So I just pulled the trigger. I was pleasantly surprised by the instant approval! YIPPEEE!!! Love it when that happens! No calling the reconsideration line. I was prepared though and even knew which card I would offer up to close to get the new approval. This makes six (6) AMEX cards I currently have open. Two (2) business cards and four (4) personal cards. This makes a total first quarter of 240,000 miles/points. Miles Momma is pretty happy right now! Already met my minimum spends on the other 4 cards using all my bag of “creative tools”. The $1,000 minimum spend on this AMEX should be done by the end of next week as the card is being sent in 1 or 2 days! Love how AMEX always get your card in your hands quickly!
Another easy 50,000 Membership Reward points for our family. Two free domestic tickets or who knows what. There are so many options with Membership Rewards Points. That is why AMEX Membership Rewards is one of my top two favorite programs. My other great love is the Chase Ultimate Rewards program. The key difference between these two programs and other credit card programs is the number of transfer partners. You aren’t stuck into a box with limited ways to spend your points with these programs. Learn more about Membership Rewards Program here. See the chart below of all the Membership Rewards Partners you can transfer your points to.
|MEMBERSHIP REWARDS PARTNERS|
|Best Western||Iberia||Air France/KLM||Aeroplan||Virgin Atlantic|
|Choice Privileges||Cathy Pacific||Alitalia||Singapore||El Al|
|Jumeirah||Asia Miles||Aeromexico||All Nippon||Frontier|
Also, keep in mind, that you are eligible for the 75,000 AMEX Business Rewards Gold if you haven’t had a Business Gold, Green or Platinum Card® account within the last 12 months. You are also eligible for the 50,000 AMEX Premier Rewards Gold if you haven’t applied or had this card in the last 12 months or any Personal Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card or Platinum Card® account within the last 90 days. Remember that business and personal cards are viewed separately. So if you’ve had a business card but not a personal or vice versa, you are still eligible for the other. Little tricky but hopefully you understand how the terms and conditions work. Any questions, please ask.
Good luck! Enjoy your points! Or more importantly, where they take you and the memories you create with your family and friends! This is what this hobby is all really about; the memories we cherish forever in our hearts. (Sorry I got all sappy on you….I’m truly a romantic sappy person and it comes out sometimes. I do try to keep it bottled up most of the time and stay focused on the business of deal) 😳 All my best to you all! It’s been a great year so far with bonus offers. Can’t wait to see what comes along next!
